im thinking of replacing my slant 6 with a 318, will the 318 bolt up to the transmission and will the motor mounts match up? I mentioned this to a friend he said none of the stuff will match up and probably would have to modify all my mounts

Won't work with the current engine mounts. What transmission do you have? That may work just fine.

The 318 should bolt up to the 727

the transmissions is completely different for a slant 6. if you are looking for a 318 minus well try to find a 46RH and the best place to look for something like that is in a ram van since they seemed to stick around longer than the trucks/dakota's. now also saying that may also be worth trying to keep the magnum engine that would be bolted the the transmission. i believe the ram vans used the same motor mounts as the trucks long after 93. the frame should be the same if that is what you are thinking about motor mount wise. holes are all there for a v8
