Want to start by saying hello and that im new to this so please bear with me.

My check engine light came on about two months ago and i had it put on machine and it registered three different codes (dont remember them). It did say 3rd cyclinder misfire, EGR position sensor high and something else. So i replaced the plugs on the 3rd cyclinder, new wires and replaced the EGR valve and had it put back on machine because it was still running poorly and now it gives me 3rd cyclinder misfire, multiple misfire and one other one but not sure what it was. Im stumped with this and just about out of money to continue with the guess and fix game. My truck runs, idles rough and at about 50 miles per hour it begins to stutter; when you give it more gas it will pull outa the stutter for a brief period. Also im unsure why my oil gauge will bottom out and go back up to normal, check gauges light comes on and will do this three to four times before staying bottomed out. i shut the truck off and restart it and oil pressure goes back up. Can somebody please help me figure this out????????

Welcome to the forum. :)

My truck had some of those same symptoms.....misfiring, idleing rough, etc and it ended up being the crankshaft position sensor. It had thrown the codes of cylinder 8 misfire and crankshaft position sensor.

My truck is not throwing the crankshaft codes just the misfire on cyclinders and one other one but im thinkin it was a coolent one. Now i went out to start my truck and it will not start, battery has enough juice to run everything except it wont turn over. Starting to get really upset with this truck at this point. Also any ideas on why the oil pressure gauge goes haywire? The gauge will bottom out, go back and bottom out and go back up and then bottom out again and stay there until i shut off truck and restart it. Except this afternoon of course now it wont start at all.

Best advice I can give is take it to the dealer, pay the hour diag. fee (should be around 100 bucks) and go from there. They can tell you exactly what's wrong with it and from there you can fix the issue instead of playing the guessing game. What ever you decide to do i wish ya luck!!!
