I own a 2017 Ram 3500 that has been used extensively for hotshot trucking and camper hauling. It has 364,000 miles and a new transmission. It is now off the road and has become a semi-daily driver. I recently noticed an engine "whine" that occurs between 1000rpm and 1500rpm. The "whine" is constant if the rpms are held between those numbers. Once it drops below 1000 or races above 1500 it stops. It sounds to me like a power steering pump, but after installing a new one, the noise is still there. I have also replaced the hydroboost. Any thoughts? It doesn't sound like a turbo whistle. It definitely is coming from the driver's side. Was thinking...belt, pulley, etc.? Any experience or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
