Getting a little gritty sound from the front left followed by a whine when accelerating. Tends to be less after driving for awhile. Replaced the belt and tensioner pulley, all fluids have been changed. Took it to les schwab, didn't find anything. Does not do it when stationary and rev the engine, only when moving.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Try driving down a smooth straight road, steer slightly right, straighten out, then slightly left. Don't change lanes, you just want to put a little strain on the steering. If the noise changes when steering one way or the other it's most likely a wheel bearing.

If it is a bad wheel bearing quit driving the damn thing, and jack it up and start checking it over for a bad wheel bearing. The above advice is terrible about taking it for a drive,if it is a bad bearing,it can go south at anytime, and odds are the wheel might try to exit the vehicle. If you don't know how to check for a bad wheel bearing google it,as there's probably lots of video's on youtube showing how to jack it up and check wheel bearings/balljoints etc. to

Whining is rotational sound, so what ever it is it's rotating. From now on put more info like mileage and if it is 4x4 and other relevant stuff. Bottom line why even check the wheel bearing? Just replace it, it is a maintenance item and depending on mileage time for a new one anyhow. It's not a hard dyi for wheel bearings. In places such as soaking wet Oregon, items like wheel bearings have lower lifespans. Might want to do both and totally service the front end.

If it turns out to be front hubs, OE will run you ~$190 each @ RockAuto.

Recommend replacing both if that is indeed the issue. Please post what you find out.
