I’m looking to add a evic speedometer cluster to my 2019 Ram classic express does anyone have any knowledge of doing this I have the small screen right now and would prefer the bigger one

I would check with your dealer and if your "sales code" will support this mod. In other words, after the install, can the dealer computer activate the new evil so it works.

Yes, it's a common plug and play upgrade that tons of people including myself have done. You will need to find one with more mileage and wait for them to match or there are places you can send the new one to have the mileage adjusted to match. Last but not least you can use the Alfa tool to adjust the mileage, idle hours and engine hours. The dealer does not have the capability of changing it. They send them out when they need to replace them. I recommend getting an 18 or 19 cluster.

once you get the cluster you can send it off and have it programmed with the Miles/idle hours ect...I did it for mine took about 4 days round trip, they programmed the day it arrived and sent it out the next morning was $99.99 bout two years ago. Just email [email protected], they were very responsive when I dealt with them.

You can swap out the 3” cluster for the premium 7” one in your truck as others have indicated...and DIY, or buy one programmed with your info.

If you do it all yourself you’ll need the following:

A good 7” EVIC cluster; I recommend it be from an ‘18-19 truck.
A security bypass harness that plugs into your OBD port.($60)
An OBDLink MX+ OBD2 reader module (about $100)
An Android phone or tablet.
AlfaOBD software loaded on the Android device. ($58)

You can program the miles and idle/running hours yourself with AlfaOBD software...and remember to record your existing miles/hours just before the swap so they match.

The programming procedure is well documented elsewhere on the forum and YouTube.

The security gateway bypass harness, MX+ OBD reader and AlfaOBD software are also used for many other mods like changing lamps out for LED ones, global window down function, DRLs, tow mirror conversions, compass install...the list goes on and on...so the (approximately) $220 you spend on the extra hardware/software can be spread over many projects if you intend to do more mods.

Mechanically, the swap only take 5 minutes to change clusters.

I did this in my 2017 already too. Very simple swap. I used the AlfaOBD software to set milage and engine hours after the install.
