I saw a post on Facebook from a guy who said that he put a 2013 cluster in his 2012 1500. He said that he just had to repin the plug and it worked. Anyone try this and have any success? Im looking to upgrade my cluster from the basic one to one with EVIC.

Doubtful unless he changed the truck over to a 2013 set-up.The electrical did a complete 180 from 12 to 13,and with-out alot of wiring changes i don't think it'll work. For 1 the 13's just use 1 connector on the back of the evicc where as the 12's used 2 connectors. If he did it,you better track him down and find out how he did it.
Maybe what the cluster-swap-guy meant was he put a 2012 with the Premium EVIC in place of his basic cluster. Or... he put one out of like an early '13 2500?? (that was still a '12 premium cluster)??
Yeah, find out what he did.
Do a google search targeting this forum. I seem to remember quite some yrs ago a few owners swapping clusters to get the better EVIC, but I don't recall what yrs.
There are a few Y/T videos how to swap to the Premium.
