$200 each and a setscrew holds them on?

Look closer, it uses a built in clamp w/split pipe similar to an exhaust seal clamp to hold onto the exhaust pipe.

Just search on eBay. Going to run about $20

He'll need to cut a slot on the inlet side with a cut off wheel and use an exhaust seal clamp to hold it on. (or have the adapters welded on).
I found a stainless exhaust tip I liked but it was weld on only, I used the above to attach it to my exhaust.

To keep it clean, I would look at making the 3- inch to 4 inch conversion at the muffler, then there is not a 3 inch pipe to 4 inch adapter to 5 inch tip all in the same area.
