Is this the resonator? I have a 2006 Hemi and each header has a Cat and O2 sensor then they join at a y pipe into this, which I think is a resonator, if I’m correct. Then it goes into muffler then tail pipe. There is nothing after muffler except pipe.

The reason I ask is, I had a Magnaflow 3” inlet to 2.25” dual outlet with side exits. I didn’t think it was loud enough so my wife told me to pick a new muffler for Xmas. I bought and installed a Flowmaster super 44 3” inlet to 2.25” dual outlet and it’s still really quiet. So, now I’m thinking that this is a resonator and I need to remove it.

From what I’ve read 06 had a resonator then muffler and then another resonator.

My 04 has a resonator after the bath tub size muffler ( that got tossed out for a straight pipe) but the res looks like a very small muffler

I don’t know what happened then, unless the previous owner left factory muffler on and replaced resonator with a muffler. It’s weird!
