I am old school….. I like lots of chrome and our 2018 Laramie brings that in spades. When I was growing up, the high end vehicles had lots of chrome and the base cheap models did not. I really need to get a newer picture of it.

I like the truck in regards to the interior and and engine etc. Just want to make it stand out so its not so plain Jane. Just wish it had a little more dimensions to it.

I inherited a 2008 Ram Big Horn, vanilla color. In process of blacking out bumpers, wheels, running boards. The door handles and wheels are already black.

I'm a retired industrial designer and bought my first RAM ('15 2500) because it had the best styling of anything on the market at the time, IMO. I had planned to keep the '15 longer, but the spike in used truck prices prompted me to sell it, and I went back to the well for another 4th-gen, as I don't care for the 5th-gen styling as much.

The DS has been on the market nine model years now, which means it's not only well-sorted (for a FCA/Stellantis product), but has a well-established and deep aftermarket. As others mentioned, the downside if you want to stand out, you're competing with a very large number of DS trucks out there.

How much you end up 'standing out' really only boils down to your imagination and budget. Plenty of ideas on this site and all over the interwebs, so make a list of different mod options, put together a combo that works for you, then do it!

So many different ways to go:

Dropped
Lifted
Street rod
Muscle Truck
Off Roader
Overlander
Grocery getter
Work truck........

The possibilities, options and uses are literally endless. Heck, for that fact run to Pep Boys and cover it with all the stick-on cheap sh$t you can carry.... Or go to Home Depot (or wherever), buy some Garillia glue, get a big ***** and glue it on the hood as an ornament. THAT will get some looks and make it "stand out", lol It's all up to YOU.

It's a joke..... Big%20Laugh.gif

Really comes down to (2) things:

1. What do you envision and like,
2. How much you want to spend $$$$$

What did catch my eye was the fact that "you" aren't happy with it. Scan Pinterest type sites and get some ideas. If your looking for "Approval" from others,....... it won't really matter if "your" not content with it anyways. :waytogo:

Custom graphics always work. I saw a Mopar graphic on eBay and I had a local guy make one similar but not the same. It's 100% custom. It's not bold in your face but it's enough to make my truck different from everyone else's. Custom taillights help a bit too. 20210816_174944_HDR.jpg

Now if you really want to be different and change up those body lines or rock a new set of rims there are always these options. 170d2c706923e2dd74625b0a5f97adad.jpg74fe3581b0d15ee9da591b243e1eb4f0.jpg

Personally I think we've been had. I can go to any gm or ford forum and tell them I bought one of their trucks and how boring it is and ask for their opinion. I know what I'd expect to hear and it wouldn't be nice! Why or who chooses to buy something they don't like? Personally if I don't like it you couldn't "give" it to me!

It’s no biggie, you like what you like and don’t like what you don’t. Have you considered trading in/selling while dealerships are willing to pay more now? I ended up purchasing a ram Rebel and to me, it had the right amount of rugged, comfort, and capability. Either way, good luck in your decision, whatever it is.

Hi,

Hopefully I don't get too much hate for this. I have the 18 Ram Big Horn, and I am not a fan of how boring it looks. Even worse it looks like every other truck out there. Looking for suggestions or ideas on how to make it more pleasing to the eye. I thought about Fender flares, grill guard etc. But looking more for ideas on how to make it more dimensional instead of so round and flat.

That’s why I got my dodge in Sublime Green only 1 in a 100 mile radius of me. Definitely does not look like the rest. Led lights next upgrade along with fender vents. Possible HellRam detailing.

modifications are endless. depends on how much you can and/or are willing to spend. this probably isnt the ideal situation for a daily driver but custom mods sure will make it stand out.

I’m a chrome guy myself and I don’t like my truck looking like anyone else’s either. Just keep hunting and looking at other trucks for ideas.
