Extra heavy duty springs?

On my build sheet it says my truck has extra heavy duty springs on it .What makes then extra heavy duty

They're made from reclaimed steel from old Fords.

Your picture shows a 1500 and if that is your truck you might have 3/4 ton or 1 ton springs on there

Yes that is my truck. Just got it and love it. Is there a way I can tell the difference visually. Its a outdoorsman if that helps any

Some of the coils have color dots on them. If you get the color dot patter and take it to your ram parts place they would be able to look it up and tell you. I have seen dots on mine just not sure if they are multi color dots. Just something to look into.

Maybe they all say that? If not, I would bet they are thicker thus letting you carry more payload, drive better when fully loaded. Check your payload versus others. I wouldn't want to be putting over 2k pounds regardless of the springs anyway, other factors besides just springs.

interested to see what you find out. If there are heavier springs I'd consider getting those and cutting them down. Lowered towing has its challenges.
