Factory Bluetooth question

Does anyone know if I replace my factory uconnect 5.0 with a different radio if I can use the factory mic for the Bluetooth? Or if the USB plugs in the console will still work?

Well the short answer is no...

The factory mic might work if you can re wire it.. But if you change to an aftermarket radio those usb ports are dead. the wiring is different and nobody yet has figured it out.

Also if you take out your 5.0 you lose the settings menu options.. Hill assist, auto headlights ect... make sure you set it up how you want before you pull it

You could replace them? Ive still got the 5.0 in my rig for now... but i was thinking of adding in some extra 2 amp usb ports for my S5 and my buddies phones to charge from.

Actually that wouldn't be bad at all. I wonder if the USB will still have power to it. I just need it to charge as the radio will have them

there is probably a wire in the factory end of the harness. Right?

couldn't we find that wire and splice a male end on it? plug into your after market HU in the back.. assuming you have the inputs on the back. and if someone has a wire diagram or the knowledge of how to determine which wire.

could maybe pull the trim off the usb port and see if the wire leading into it is color specific?

im kinding just dreaming all this up, as I am bored at work.

That's not a bad idea. I'm going to try and hunt down a wiring diagram
