That looks to me to be just what factory incentives are, with the dealer getting their full cut, I was offered 8k off a tradesman just a couple days ago. Check out Edmunds.com they show you what they consider to be "fair value" pricing. A lot of the time you can print it out and dealers will match it. If you are a USAA member they actually have a Vehicle buying program that will actually get you a quote for under Invoice cost on the Rams.

Still seems high to me. *shrug*

But it also sounds like a fairly loaded truck. I'd try for 38k.

If that is an otd price the. The cost of the car is around 37k before taxes not including any other additional products. I'm pretty sure you can knock off another 2,500 or more.

I paid 10k of msrp, and I would never pay more then 7k off msrp. My last 5 trucks all new were a minimum 7k off msrp. On cheaper cars and trucks you can't get that much off, but for full size anything there is a ton of money in the padded msrp. Even the dealer invoice is padded, so if they wont give it for 7k off go elsewhere, plenty of dealers will, or wait until the rebates get better, usually every month or so.

Seems a little high. I always try to aim for invoice price, then minus any incentives. I have used truecar. com and Edmunds. com with help with pricing.

I found a formula on the Web for invoice pricing
Base price X. 926 + options package price X. 85 + destination charge = invoice price of vehicle.

It came in handy at the dealership when I didn't have Internet access.

Just remember it's your money and don't let the dealership take it from you. :)

I got $10k off my Longhorn. Might want to look at a service that helps you haggle. Costco I believe has one. USAA if you're a member there.

Nice deal!! Would have like to gotten a sport trim level, but there were not any in the NY Metro area that were a crew cab (August 2013). The NY taxes also killed any chance that I had :-(. But I do enjoy the one I have now.

From my experience shopping around in NJ almost every dealer began negotiating after subtracting whatever factory incentives were available. Then when you start talking about any further discount and they act like they are already giving you a great deal by the incentives they just subtracted. Scumbags!! Let me tell you I wanted to buy and many dealers just let me walk out and refused to work on the price, it's like they don't care, another customer will be coming in right behind you to fall for the scam.

Rant over...good luck

Definitely too high. Go in around $35,000 to $36,000. Many people are getting $8,000 - $10,000 off MSRP, why shouldn't you?

Did you find a particular dealer to play ball, or did you go out of state? I am not averse to travelling a few hours or more to save a few thousand...

Best deal I got was at Fullerton, they worked with me a bit but still not any where near some of the deals members on this board are getting. I was able to get $7k off, but that was still with a bunch of incentives I qualified for. I wouldn't say my deal was bad but it wasn't anything to write home about either...
