Another towing question from me. Please humour me :)

I have the option of getting a Fastway e2 from my travel trailer factory when we pick up. I'd initially dismissed the idea as my truck can handle the 450-525lbs of tongue weight they recommend. I've had a reasonable load in the bed of the truck before without much squatting, too.

The trailer factory won't warranty the trailer frame if I drill it for a traditional sway setup. It's a lightweight aluminum frame, so I see their point.

The e2 would both distribute a bit of the weight (it's only a 3000-3500lb trailer though) and provide some protection from sway. The price is right, too.

Am I flawed in getting it?

How long is the trailer? For that light of weight you probably could get by without it, but having the sway control is nice. The longer the trailer the more you will want the sway control. Looks like you have a 1500? I would probably get it myself. yes, you can handle the 500 pound tongue weight, but with the softer rear suspension of the 1500 it would benefit from a WDH. I have an e2 setup myself, but my trailer is 35 ft and about 8000 pounds. It has worked very well.

Thanks for your reply. The trailer is only 21ft. As you say, I could get away with out it....but all I'm really trying to do is control sway here. It's a relatively inexpensive option plus the factory will set it up for me -- removing bonus.

Glad to hear the e2 has worked for you. Looks like a nice product.
