Faulty oil pressure sending unit?

Do these fail? I'll be driving along and then all the sudden my dummy gauge will go from in the normal range all the way to zero. If it's in neutral and I rev the engine it will usually go back to normal. Or if I shut it off and then restart it it's fine again.

Also where the f is the thing, is it behind the intake?

Yeah, sounds about right. It's next to the distributor behind the intake,.

Make sure to get the 3 prong unit. Oreileys and auto zone sell 2 different kinds. One is like 10 bucks but the one you need is like $42
