Just wondering if any of you guys have seen this info?

FCA May Build Large SUV Based on Ram Pickup - Motor Trend

I'm not sure how I feel about it going to Jeep, Dodge or Chrysler. I think they should just sell it as a Ram. Whatever the case, it will be interesting and fun to see a real truck based Chrysler SUV going toe to toe with the GMs. It's been a long time.

Didn't see that, thanks for posting. It sure would be interesting. I'm sure they will brand it to whatever they think will sell better. The Jeep market is huge, so that might work better for them.

With Ford possibly bringing back the Bronco, RAM/Dodge would need something besides the Durango to get side by side with that. If the did a two door like the old RAM Charger, that would be bad freaking ASS.
426 or HELLCAT based. Just those two options.

finally!! Another American "body on frame" SUV that is not a Chevy. thought these would be gone forever when the explorer and durango became uni-body and the excursion was discontinued.

crossing my fingers.

EDIT: jeeps are in their own category for me.

Sign me up for the ram charger concept that I saw pictures of. Power wagon based with the 6.4

Been waiting for this for since the end of the ram charger.... They need to and produce them with the hemi and cummins or Eco-Diesel at the least.

Ford also needs to get their balls back and build the excursion again and Chevy needs to offer a Diesel version of the Suburban.

But as for a fullsize ram SUV I'd buy one in a second!!

My thinking is they couldnt JUST put it as a Jeep or a Dodge. I feel branding it as a Ram is the only way they could only build one version of it. Otherwise they will have to do like GM and make multiple versions for different crowds. So that's the choice they have to make. If they brand it a Ram just like with the Ram pickups, they can have a trim all the way up to the Limited with all the luxury you could want. Plus all of this will be next gen, so interiors should be all revamped anyway. And how about a 2500 HD model? :naughty: (doubtful that would happen)

If they do build this and its good, I'd seriously consider trading one of my Mopars for one in a few years.

I thought the Durango was going away at the end of this year (or next), and there was a scheduled replacement for it. Would be nice to see the Prospector or RamCharger nameplate return. (along with the removable hard top)

I have also heard this rumor, but have also heard a Hellcat is in the works, granted a front fascia from an unknown source means nothing until FCA comes out and says it but still

That would be sick. I would love a 3 row seat 700HP monster. lol

I think the RAM based SUV is great, but if they are going cost as much as a Tahoe or Yukon. No thanks. Those things are way overpriced and the used ones are even worse.

im with ya. my boss went to a Chevy dealer to look at Tahoe's and asked what they cost. the salesman thought he was funny when he said "they cost $5,000 a foot, you can either afford it or you cant"

obviously he waled out. bought a used (10 year old) duramax 2500.

They will be, I'd say comparable to the Ram prices vs the chevy pickups. I used to have a 01 yukon XL with all the bells and whistles, air ride an all.... picked it up in 03 for 19k, sticker price was 60k but basically repo'd it.. long story... But they are nice, best SUV I've ever owned and kinda wish I still had it. Love them GMC SUV's but I'll hold out for a Ram version any day...

I still have plans for a Jeep, but still waiting on the GF to decide what and when she wants the charger first

Before I started looking at trucks. I was looking SUV since I was about to be a dad. Always been a GM fan so looked at a bunch of Tahoe's and Yukons. Even some avalanches...

So to even find one around 30K used, they all had almost 100K miles and these weren't even the loaded models. :flipthebird:

Can I afford a $600-700 car payment? Yeah but I don't want too. hahaah

The late 90s and early 2000s Suv were reliable. Parts were plenty full and cheap. lol

Exactly.... only reason I had mine at 30k miles for 19k was bailing someone out that reneged on the deal... Had a signed agreement so I repo'd the truck. all that was owed was 19k so that's what I got it for. Might sound kinda shady but when you try to screw me out of 19k I'll win, especially when smart enough to put it in writing that they signed.

Drove it for 4 years and traded it in on my New Cummins.. Sticker on that was 53k I bought it for 31k, just gotta know how to deal. :happy107:

I'm over buying new though. With so many vehicles out there 1-2 years old low low miles and alot cheaper, I'll let someone else take the hit and have a high payment and lose the value right off the lot. I'm ok with a slightly used vehicle.

Last time I was in a Chevy dealer there was a "demo" Tahoe LTZ in the showroom with about 3500 miles on it going for $63k. Now a days the pickup market has just about reached those levels though. You can actually spend close to 80 grand on an F150...
