Flew up to Caldwell, ID Saturday afternoon and drove what turned out to be an 870 mile drive home to Southern California. This was by far the easiest car purchase I have been involved with. Since I had my own financing it literally only took 15 minutes worth of paperwork and signatures. The rest of the hour was spent BSing with the sales guys.

Some more notable specs on the truck.
2015 Ram 2500 Laramie Mega Cab 6.4
4.10 w/LSD
8.4 Uconnect w/Nav.
Leather Bucket Seats
Cab Lights
Snow Plow Prep
Many other bells and whistles

The drive home was great but slow as I did my best to give the 6.4 a "proper" break-in. Drove between 55-65mph for the first 400 miles with the occasional burst of acceleration. For the entire length of the trip my EVIC showed and avg MPG of 16.4. Didn't do any hand calcs as I don't want to ruin the honeymoon just yet.

Only letting me attach one pic at a time. Probably operator error, as usual.

Beautiful truck! What was the reason for traveling so far to buy it? A good deal, friends with the salesman, etc?

When I bought mine I drove 1.5 hours and thought that was a lot. Lol

I couldn't get any other dealer I contacted in Socal to come close to the price I paid or even call/email me back
Chances are there may have been a closer dealer than in ID but I don't have the patience to email/call dozens of dealers for weeks in end.

Yeah, I live about 20 minutes from HB Chrysler. My office is right around the corner from them. We take all outpr Ram fleet trucks there for service. I had the service guy we use tell the Fleet manager to call me when I first started looking for a truck. He took down what I was looking for and decided to never call me back. So, :flipthebird: him. :favorites13:

Dang wish I would have known you were buying there to get the referral money. Can't remember how much they told me I'd get if I refer someone, but could have split it.

Besides the drought, AFAIK w a 2500 there's no reason not to have it. Mammoth Lakes/Mountain isn't much of a drive. Heck, we needed plows this past week over at Huntington Lake.

Jerry, it's a $100 referal fee.

The snow plow prep, it think they called it, was just to get the bigger alternator and I think one other item. It ended up being the cheapy wat to get said items and save about a wopping $50.

Thanks for looking. My wife is absolutely thrilled and my kid has claimed the rear seat for our road trips already.

Perfect truck. Love the color. Looking at that truck, I can see how the long drive pays off in the end! For the snow plow prep, did you get the 180 or 220-amp alternator? Even in a California climate, why not get it. Pretty inexpensive in a truck already over $50k MSRP.
