Well as you guys know by now I am a huge fan of tires in general but especially BF Goodrich. I am on my 5th set of BFG's I've the years and picked up my first nail in one. So far not leaking but will be getting removed and repaired on Saturday.

I was due for one I guess but now I can't be so damn proud. I left it in there even though I want to see it. I need to make it to the shop first. I will be installing dyna beads ASAP as I have not been able to keep these chrome clads balanced.

The best way to repair them now days, is with the new plug/patch combos. I have one in one of my tires. The good thing about these, it they totally seal the puncture, which will not allow the steel belts in the tire to rust. Also, if you plug or patch a Z rated tire, it's no longer considered Z rated anymore. With the new combo patch/plugs, a Z rated tire retains it's Z rating after the repair.

I am sure in my case the place will mark the tire in relation to the valve stem. Then take off the tire and pull out the shrapnel. They will then so some grinding with a little dremel to prepare the area and then patch the tire. It will not be an issue. It only an issue if it happens in the sidewall then you are screwed unless the place will do a plug for you which most won't because of safety. I will be driving these tires another 30k on this patch and I am not worried.

You have way better luck than I do man. Last time I picked up a nail was with my motorcycle a day after I bought it. Dirty Dealer wouldn't even give me a break on a new tire so now I bar all of mine on.

My tires eat nails for a snack. haha

Why I love a/t's and m/t's - get a nail or screw and doesn't slow them down one bit. Had a screw in my Trail Grapplers. No idea how long it was there because it was passenger rear tire, but it had no problem holding air until I got around to getting it fixed.

Spoke too soon took it in and the thing had not pierced the tire just stuck on outside. I was not willing to pull out in case.
