I just bought a 2014 1500... I'd just like to give my 5.7l a little more growl.
I was going to buy the flowmaster muffler, since my truck has factory dual.

looks like I need a muffler with 3" in, and dual 2.5" out.

My question is: are mufflers standard in length???
The flowmaster looks like it will be shorter than the OEM unit, so do I need to order more piping to make it fit?

or will it literally just bolt right in with a few hangers/clamps and easy peezy?

Likes been said. New pipe and hangers will be necessary. I called a local shop a couple days ago and he quoted me around $130 for parts and labour if I supply the muffler.

I have the 3" in dual 2.5" out 50HD. I had it welded in place then just added an extension pipe because it is shorter than stock. Just not sure how long. Still used hangers from factory without a problem. :)

Installed the flowmaster retro fit muffler on the wife's 2014 ram hemi/8speed and sounds really good, nice rumble, aggressive sound with foot depressed but not loud at hwy cruise speeds. Performance nothing noticeable but it's more about sound with exhausts and look to have achieved it with the flowmaster kit

WHAT!! they make a bolt up kit!!!! NO WAY!!

I still need to price out what a shop would charge if I just buy the muffler tho. 150 bucks for the muffler, I cant see it costing more than 100 bucks to put it in. Its almost like these are way over priced just for convenience

Flowmaster kit # 817568
It's a 50 series muffler, I like the kit because it is a direct replacement and stock muffler can be reinstalled easily if a person trades their truck in.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1398650216.107197.jpg

a used kit will sell for 150 bucks if that thing is on there for a few years. Shipping, paypal fees and reinstalling the stock muffler.. id just sell it with the truck..
