Hello, I have a '98 Ram 1500 Laramie SLT, 360, 4x4, auto trans. I have been trying to find fog lamps for this truck. Ordered several sets from sellers on the internet that are supposed to fit '98 thru '02. They do not fit. Also tried to back up year models, but they are the same as the ones I have ordered. They are all too big in diameter and do not mount in any way I can see. I have seen pictures of this vintage truck with fog lamps, so I know the equipment is out there. They are located in rectangle openings in the bumper. Does anybody out there have links to a source for the lamps I need? Thanks for the help.

I’ve been looking to add factory foglights to my 2001, it didn’t come from the factory with them. What’s all needed?

You’ll need the wiring harness, the lights, the switch, and I don't recall if the non fog light trucks had the correct fillers for the front bumper slots where the lights go or not, so you may or may not need those. On my 98 the switch is dedicated to fog lights alone and is mounted in the upper right hand portion of the instrument bezel near the power outlet, but it may have been moved on the 2001 models. For example, it may be part of the headlamp switch assembly mounted on the left of the instrument panel, in witch case you'd need to replace the assembly with one that has a fog light option. The entire set up should have been available as a post production upgrade kit. If so any dealership should be able to look up the part number of the kit and tell you if one is in the system somewhere. But this many years down the road you may have to resort to eBay for an OEM kit or settle for something aftermarket.

Edit: I almost forgot about junk yards. As a last resort they're always an option.
