Okay, so I don't have fog lights, but I have a fog light switch on the dash. When I turn the switch on, a small light tells me they're on, but no fog lights.

Can I safely assume all the wiring is in place out to the front bumper, and that I could put something in, say, where the tow hook holes in the bumper live (the black plastic inserts by the license plate)?

Pic for illustration.

I should add, that when I bought the truck there was no hitch receiver, but all the wiring for the hitch was in place and worked just fine, if that helps.

What switch are you referring too. Fog light button should be part of your headlight switch. Cargo lamp button is below. Just confirming.

I would assume most wiring is their if the light works. But it is a separate harness in the lower portion of the bumper that plugs in on the drivers side. Maybe this jumper harness is missing if you do not see the plugs present.

In my case, it's a separate light button, just below and to the left of the headlight dial switch...

(my ignorant luck it would be the cargo/bed light... Honestly forgot I would have one.)

Did you purchase the truck used? If so, the previous owner may have added the switch. And, since you said when you push the fog light button, the indicator light shows on the dash, the sales code had been added as well.

The only other thing that I can think of is the front bumper has been changed to a bumper without fog lights.

Either way, I bet you have the wiring. You should see the wires hanging down on the driver's side front, behind the bumper.

Edit: As stated above, I bet you are looking at the cargo light. The fog light switch is the headlight switch, just pushed, not turned.

The evic lights are different for fogs and for cargo.

Bought it used in June (previous owner was Enterprise Rent-A-Car.)

...and, I'm an idiot. I assumed the little separate switch was for fog lights, but it's the cargo light.

(amazing what I find when I RTFM, right?)

Okay,

...so I'll do a bit of research to figure out how I would go about adding a fog light rigging with what I have.

You can add a new headlight switch that has the fog light option. Then, you'll need to have the sales code added at the dealership. You'll also need to plug a couple of pins in under the fuse box for the hot wires.

I have this setup in my truck. I have the OEM headlight/fog light switch with the sales code added. But, instead of fog lights, I use one of the hot leads to power a relay switch that powers a 20" LED light bar mounted in my air dam. Made for a clean install.

Yeah, don't feel bad. At least you didn't take yours back to the dealer like I did, lol.
