I know there's a harness... Also I don't care to do this mod myself. But I was just thinking the other day that the fogs only turn off when you push forward on the high beam.. If you pull back for a quick flash, the fogs stay on.

How silly would it be to somehow make a jumper from constant on, to the "temp on"? If that is possible, wouldn't it make more sense than how those harnesses work?

That's why I'm still running the original OEM bulbs... too many differing accounts, good and bad, and all too subjective, for me to base a decision on. I suppose at some point, one of the bulbs will burn out and I'll be forced to make a decision on whet to do.

For the temp solution, the PCM will put you on timeout after a minute of use.

It will not allow you to use the flash to pass feature for an additional minute or so.

I never really thought too much of it, I just chuckled when I was on time out from using my high beams this way.

I think the easiest way to still to use a relay harness because of the computer that initiates all this

If you have a tuner. There's a option in it. That will let you turn them on with the high beams.

So where does that happen? The computer, can that not be bypassed?

IMO
In vehicles nowadays with CANBUS, your controls are less "switches" and more akin to keyboard keys. Each "keystroke" is treated as a request and rather than a command.

Harnesses are simpler solutions than attempting to change the commands or code in the PCM.

I think he was wondering if the geometry, rather than just the height of your suspension made adjusting the headlights problematic.

Exactly...I had to adjust mine way down, but there is still room to lower further. I had Bils set 2.1 added, started getting flashed again.

Lol now I'm lost.. That link should goto an opt7 thread? Where did you get bilstiens?

I do not have rear spacers, I have springs to add an aditional 5" of lift.

I think this is your issue, your lights will always be pointing directly at drivers at that height. You may have better luck aiming them higher and letting the fogs cover down low lighting. On quad headlights there is a sweet spot where the headlights don't blind other drivers (unless cresting a hill).

I ain't never had too much light...

As low as I could aim them.. Was right in oncoming traffics eyes.. Higher would have been to the sky and pointless.

Could be better on a stock suspension.

I was going to say something else, but I forgot.
