Hi I'm new here and recently purchased a bare bones 2018 3500 G56 cummins. I wanted to upgrade some lighting and ordered a pair of footwell lights & bezels. Tried plugging into connector stowed under the drivers side the light didn't come on. Checked for voltage nothing with door open. Reading other post I thought this would be plug & play. Has Ram made all options dependent BC module programing? or I'm missing something. Thanks for any hints?

Update I'm at a loss what's happening. Prior to trying the the footwell light I had disconnected the overhead center dome light. When I plugged it back in it wouldn't come on. I then started the engine and presto dome and foot lights are working. So you disconnect a component or connector the affected system goes into lock down until restart?????

My dome light has a time and will turn off after 5 mins I think it is to prevent draining the battery

I’m well aware of the lights turning off after a period of time. The situation I experienced even after closing doors a number of times lights would not come on again until I restarted. I have completed the addition of the footwell lights and an overhead console and all is working as it should. Completing this task was a little different from other posts on the subject. On cutting through the headliner found a green connector glued to the top with one wire yellow/green that was powered. I used it to power reading lamps and cup holder light. The courtesy lamps and ground I tapped the center dome light (crew cab). While working inside the cab, doors closed, if I cut a wire or opened a connector what I think was the BCM would softly whirl or buzz cluster lights come on and off. Very sensitive to changes.
