I am wondering for those that tinted over their back windows, I understand from the factory the back and rear (if crew or quad cab) windows are 20% (ish), when you tinted over that how bad did it get at night to see?? I mean we spend all of our time looking forward, but the few times you have to look out the back, did it become impossible? I had my drivers and passanger's fronts matched to the factory rears, but am considering going a bit darker for the rears, I love the darker look.

I think the factory tint is a tiny bit less...more like 18%. I did the fronts in 15% and it's a hair darker than the rear.

However, I don't have much problem seeing out of it at night. I have had cars with 5% done on them and without a reverse cam you'd be screwed.

Any tint is technically illegal here (law is written requiring 78% VLT so basically nothing but the factory UV tint is allowed) but most of the time pickups don't get bothered for it. I was even sketchy at first going 15% but i'd rather have it a little darker than a little lighter.

The factory tint is at 22% from what my tint shop said.
(recall, % tint is the amount of light allowed through, 5% way darker than 10% etc)

I put Air80 over the factory tint in the rear, which effectively brought me down to ~18% tint. Then I put CTX20 on my front 2 windows, so they're just ever so slightly less tinted than the rears.

I absolutely love it. I can still see just fine at night.

I put 20% over the stock on my 09 and 13 CC's and it wasn't that much worse at night. I could still see fine. Was actually easier to see though than the 5% I have on the back of my 14 RC.

Cool, thanks for the thoughts guys. I do like the back windows darker look, and today saw a Ram with a cap on the box.... thought right away "well heck, thats gotta be just as hard or harder to see out of, especially at night, compared to tint....."
I may be making an appointment with my tint guy for the back, rears and sunroof.....

That's dark!! It looks great!! I personally think dark tint makes every color pop more, your blue Ram looks awesome!!

There is no way that privacy glass is 20% in the rear factory. I'd say it was more like 30%. Dark only at certain angles, otherwise you can see right thru it.

I just did 15% around my back windows. I can still see out of them fine. Fronts are 20%.

The machine reads 13% on my fronts and that same tint is over top of my stock tint in the back. It's not to bad looking out of to reverse just don't use the rear view mirror for it at night

There seems to be enough people with tint over stock and everyone needs to backup at some point... and nobody is complaining much. I am tinting them! It's decided now. Thanks people, now I'll be moving to the "dark side".:)

Do it! I went 20% in the rear windows and 35% in the front. I see just fine out the back @ night. The rear view camera helps when there is no ambient light.

Yeah, I really don't see the back window being 20%

I want to 5% over it eventually. It's defiantly not dark enough.

Might have been different color tint, seriously. I've tried taking a pic but it never looks the same. My fronts are done with 15% and from inside the truck you can tell the rears are just a hair lighter. Outside the truck it's harder to tell depending on the light going into/through the truck
