I pulled out my old engine 2012 Ram 2500 5.7. I spaced out and didn't unbolt the torque converter.

How to I know if I damaged the input shaft or main trans seal? I dont mind paying for tranny work.

I don't want to put it back together without knowing its good to go. I can say the engine came out easy even with the torque converter.

It shouldn’t damage anything. I’ve had to do it that way before when an engine is locked up. Just be sure to inspect the front pump seal isn’t damaged.

It all checked out.

The trans is almost perfectly balanced where Chrysler mounts it. I can grab the input shaft and lift the whole tranny up and with one hand easy. Thank god!
