Its gotta be a vacuum leak, it only does it when hitting the brakes, it idles down really low and dies... I grounded out the TB, fixed that vacuum hose, and it still does it. I dunno what it could be next besides maybe the booster itself I have no clue,
There are two hoses that goes into the TB on the right side. One is for the Evap System and the other I believe might run directly to the brake booster. Check em both especially the brake one.
Nope I haven't taken it off at all, nothing has been messed with it just died on me twice yesterday at a red light and when I was about to pull into the driveway. Thought it was my battery b/c there was some corrosion, cleaned that, and it did it again, grounded the TB to help with the idle, still does it
Instead of soapy water, use carb cleaner with the truck running. The second you spray the leak, the idle will drop down.
It could potentially be the check valve on the brake booster as well. They typically run about $20 from the dealer. I'd get a new one of those, and the hose too. Not going to hurt to replace it.
It kinda acts like it's choking itself out and sputters and dies like its running out of gas, but we tested it in Neutral and in Park with the parkin brake on, got it around 1800-2200 rpms and hit the brake and it died immediately
Then it must be related. If you do the same in neutral but plug the hose that goes into the booster and it does not stall would that mean its the Black Piece/Valve Express was refering to.
