Frequent 6-Speed Auto Trans Shifting - 2008 RAM 3500 Cummins

I have a 2008 Ram 3500 Mega Cab Cummind diesel with a 6-speed AT. It shifts too frequently pulling hills 40 mph...3rd, 4th, 3rd, 4th and so on. Sometimes it shifts fine. Anyone have any ideas?

Change your speed - go a bit faster or a bit slower. Chances are you're hovering right at a shift point and it's hunting to find the right gear (not something a Cummins usually does but still).

You are you using Tow/Haul mode?
