Well after a 5 year break from Dodge trucks I am back to them.My previous 2004 dodge slt was a 2500 with the 5.9 diesel automatic tranny.Bought a 2011 ford F250 and then traded for a F150. 2 weeks ago I ordered my 2016 Ram 2500 laramie crew cab with the 6.4 hemi.I hope this new truck will be just as dependable as my 2004 was.:)

Both fords (gas engines) gave me good service.:) not brand loyal. I priced a new 2016 Ford f-150 lariat and my dodge 2500 laramie (comparable options)for $$ spent I could buy the dodge for about the same price as the ford.

My first three trucks were all Fords. I learned to drive in my Dad's 1969 F-100 (240 six) and bought it from him when I moved to the Middle West on a small farm (15 acres). Had it about 12 years and finally had to either restore it or sell it. Hard choice, but it would never have been worth the money I'd have to spend to restore, so it went to a high school student.

Bought a '95 F-150 4x4 (300 six) that was my learning experience with midwest trucks and rust. Spent a lot of time under that one before selling it off.

The third was an impulse buy (after yet another couple weekends under the F-150), and was a '99 F-250 Powerstroke 4x4. Pulled like an ox, but the diesel clatter and a host of minor things that didn't work right were constant annoyances. I finally decided that I was at the point in my life and career where I was able to buy my first new truck, and it should last me until I don't need a truck anymore.

Found a leftover '15 2500 Tradesman 4x4 for a steep discount (with only 700 miles on it - they had been using it to plow their dealer lots in Chicago), and just finished putting wheels/tires on it plus making it into a faux Power Wagon.

I'm really liking it so far, and the 5.7 seems to pull strongly.

I plan on cheating & making mine a Power Wagon too. I am making the dealer put the anti glare PW hood decal on & I bought the vinyl PW lettering that goes on the hood like the 13's. Normally I don't do stuff like this, & still may not put the lettering on the hood, but it is an Outdoorsman so it has just about everything the PW does except for winch & locking diff.
Really like the looks of yours! Ya did good! What part of the Mid-West are you from?

Thanks to the nice comments, everyone!

Bigdaddy - as others commented and as I mentioned, mine is a "faux" Power Wagon - what we called "paint-on performance" back in the 1970s. :naughty: I found the appropriate badging on eBay and decided to have some fun with it.

I've always loved the Dodge WCs and early Power Wagons. This is as close as I'll ever come to owning one.

Looks reslly good, I really think you should be able to get the PWs in any cab or bed configuration myself.
