Love the look of my Ram, but the front bumper has some dings in it. Checked on a replacement OEM bumper, and it was several hundred dollars. So, that got me to thinking... If I was going to spend that much, should I get a better quality aftermarket bumper or bumper/brush guard combo? I'm not planning on doing anything crazy with big tires and lift kits, so I don't want to do an insane bumper or spend $2500 on something like this. Any thoughts? Photos of yours that you've changed or added a brush guard to?

I have used that justification on more than one occasion!

I have had off-road bumpers on my last 3 vehicles so I obviously love the way they look. I will caution you that there is also a hidden cost by installing a heavy duty bumper. They cut down on some of the aerodynamics and add weight reducing your fuel mileage. They will also wear out suspension and tires quicker than before.

I like them because if you bump into something lightly it might put a scuff on it as opposed to a big ol dent. Plus it gives options for adding additional lighting and a winch.

This was my half ton before I traded. This is a Go Rhino bumper which from what i have seen makes a really good bumper for the price.

Good point on the suspension parts. How much faster did you find that things began to wear out?
