I have a 2016 Ram 1500 with the alpine sound system. About 2 weeks ago I noticed I was having to turn my volume up higher than before to hear the music at a level I like, but even then it’s still quiet and I can barely hear my music at all when driving with the windows open.

I noticed that both door speakers sound muffled and have bad quality, but there is still sound playing and no weird buzzing noises. Basically, my front door speakers are not working properly and are the reason why my music sounds quiet.

Is this a speaker issue, or a stereo/amp issue? I’ve done a lot of car audio work and have never seen this problem and am not sure what to do. Thoughts?

I have already done a soft reset on the radio and disconnected my battery for 30 minutes. Speakers are 4ohm (I think) speakers and have a measured 2.6 ohm resistance.

I don't anything about the system, but it sounds like a amp problem. If possible, connect one of the front speakers to the rear and vice versa and see if sound goes bad on rear. Make sure resistance is identical.
