Does anybody know of some good front end upgrades I can make to help my 2012 1/2 ton IFS cope with large tires? I'm guessing the best places to start are ball joints, CV's, and axle shafts; however I'm having a tough time finding anything for my axle.

You are lucky, you have a solid axle.. I have no idea if they're made for your axle, but try to find some chromoly shafts, and get dual steering stabilizers.. That will be a start

I have an upgraded bilstein stabilizer. The shop I got it done at said that the dual was unnecessary since i got the bilstein?

I don't know a whole lot about them, but it really depends on how big you want to go.. I doubt that the fact that it's a bilstein should be a deciding factor in going single or dual

Nice! Only problem is waiting on the current trails to wear down. I got almost 20k on them and they look new

I have heard that tire pressure makes a big difference. Maybe thats it, I kno my trails say to run 65. However I am running them at 56-58 and they are wearing perfectly

I may try to air up a good amount, mine say 65 but I've been running mid/low 40s... It's only on the front passenger tire though so air pressure shouldn't be a factor. My alignment is perfect too

There was a huge article on another forum about running large tires on IFS, cant remember what the main concern was. There was a one main component that would wear out easily

I remember reading that article and said Id never run anything bigger than a 37".

Wish I could find it for you guys. Maybe someone with better off road knowledge will chime in and express their opinions on these IFS

I contacted a good amount of tire manufactures about the right pressure in my truck. They all recommend ~50psi for their 35x12.50r20's *which all had a max psi of 65. manufactures were toyo, nitto, mickey thompson, and **** cepek

Was the article specifically about Ram or IFS in general? I'd like to take a read, especially if about Ram. I know what will wear quicker but not what has aftermarket parts available for our trucks

Thanks, I'll try that. I'm still going to try to contact general in hopes of some free tires but I doubt I'll have any luck
