2012 RAM HEMI QC Sport - Looking to install a front receiver hitch for use with a winch and a bike carrier in the front. Ive seen the receiver hitches that mount under the front. They mention that the front air dam has to be modified. I saw one picture where no cuts had to be made to the air damn under the bumper but the 2" receiver part did not stick out very far and I am concerned that the receiver winch plates I have seen would cause problems with clearance because the receiver is so far back under the front bumper. Anyone have any pictures or experiences and solved the problem? THANKS

I put one on for a short time on my last truck. The ones that are below the valence kill your approach angle. I ended up removing my tow hooks and welding up some receiver tubes to take their place. Not sure how that would work out on a 2012 Ram. Do you got tow hooks? Could always just chain the winch mount to the hooks when you do a pull. Or hook the winch to your anchor and run the cable back to your truck.

Or get/make an aftermarket bumper with a built in hitch.

Yeah go with the brush guard with the built in receiver. Useful for moving trailers around as well, as pushing into place is easier than backing in because of the turn radius.
