Sooo.......AllMoparParts.com wants $80 for the valance. Reasonable. But $400 for shipping? Not as reasonable. I'm going to have to go through Amazon
Wish me luck.
I recall a similar crazy shipping cost when I was shopping for mine. I used the part number that I got from Benny and did an eBay search that had shipping included. It came in a huge box. Shipping costs for large boxes can be higher than the cost of the item. Part number for mine was 68164793AA and it was less than $100 including shipping from a Mopar seller.

Will they send it for pickup at the closest dealer. They do up here and saves a ton on shipping costs.

I have a 15’ that I removed the valance when I leveled my truck, yours if you want it, not positive it would work for you & not sure I kept the hardware, as I trimmed the edge.
No cracks but a few scrapes/rubs on it, all done before I got the truck of course.
I have it a my MIL’s, could post a pic. next time I’m there, I’ve worked at a moving company for 30 years so packing to ship definitely not a problem & would think shipping it would be less than the 400$ you mentioned.
My MIL is a retired teacher & my SIL is a teacher so I have a ton of respect for your profession.
Wow, Adam, that's incredibly generous of you. Thank you. But I think I have a new one ready to be placed under the Christmas tree, but I'm not supposed to know, lol. Can I contact you if the new one is a POS?
So, my first official days of retirement and it's sub-zero outside. And my shop, with the heater running, is around 50*. But the '71 Olds in in there and she's not coming out!
-7* actual, right now, with a wind-chill of -25 forecast. I think I'll hold off on working on the truck for a while. Instead, my wife and I are looking around the house wondering where all my school stuff is going to go, lol. 25 years, three classrooms, and an office full of stuff. I'll likely donate most of it to school. But I have a bed's worth of lumber, 3/4" plywood, hardwoods, and 12' pine boards I need to find room for. With the price of lumber these days, that's coming home!
Again Adam, very generous :)

The valance from Amazon had the correct part number, 68033135AA, and was closer to $150, shipping included, so I'm hoping for the best. I'm hoping that the weather cooperates enough for at least a test fit so I don't miss the return window.
I don't use eBay much these days. I should get beck to checking them out.

Feel free to contact me if your new one doesn’t work, it’s just sitting in the basement, I never throw truck stuff away.
Not a popular practice with my wife, but if you end up wanting it I can tell her “see that’s why I keep all this stuff”.
I imagine the new one will be an easier install, I’ll keep an eye out for post after you put it on.
Enjoy your retirement, you definitly deserve it!

I'll PM you if I end up needing it. Better than you trying to keep tabs. Forecast calls for -7* again tonight. Right now I'm just trying to keep the pipes from freezing, lol.

I got 'er done! The aftermarket valance was way not built right. I thought I could install it without taking the bumper off but after a couple of college tries, I finally took the bumper off to discover the tabs on the valance weren't lining up with the slots in the bumper. There were tabs with no slots and slots with no tabs, and the couple of tabs that did line up weren't long enough for the holes to line up. I ended up drilling most of my own holes and even used some thick zip ties in a few spots for extra security. Oddly enough, all that was a good thing because I found janky wiring for the light bar and discovered I have a block heater!
With the valance on, the truck feels tighter and more aerodynamic, unless that's just placebo :Big Laugh:

Nice work there on the remodeling. The trucks are made for the airflow a certain way, and removing may affect aerodynamics. THEY do a lot of testing and stuff. On MY 19 (5th Gen), I got the air dam that moves. There is a TSB out on them, but AFAIK, working OK, I have even scuffed that friggin "dam" when parking once or twice, U would not think that happen but they sit too low. I would prefer just molded piece instead of added moving parts, just more silly a z z hat stuff that some engineer bored thought up, IMHO.

Imagine, can U just think, an aftermarket part that does not work, be goofy, not fit right. Good thing U know how to customize and make it work. As ADAM68 said, looks great.

Yeah, I saw those [do they call them?] "dynamic" air dams when doing my research. It sounds like a good idea but as with most things, the more complicated it is, the more that can, and will, go wrong. I'm happy with my molded valance tucked up nice and tight.
Next on the list is either shorty headers or the aftermarket manifolds. Even though when I test-drove the truck, I started it cold, and couldn't hear the infamous tick tick tick, I do indeed have at least one broken bolt on the passenger side, and I'm assuming the driver's as well. But this may have a to wait. On my '14 I just ran to Home Depot and got some longer metric bolts and installed those (without the heat shield) and they were still holding when I totaled the truck. Why longer bolts, you ask? Because I actually took it to a shop to have the bolts replaced and they stripped out the threads in the head.

Sorry I won't be helping you out with your pile of parts in the basement. Since retiring last month and moving all my stuff home from school, I've been trying to purge but it's HARD! For instance, I have a stack of broken laptops. I used to fix them up for needy students, but I'm not giving them up yet. Someone might need one, once it's fixed.

You can remove your active air dam and keep the stationary air dam in place. You shouldn't seen any codes on your 2019 from just unplugging it. Or you can just remove them both like I did. I prefer how it looks without the air dam and there's no chance of scuffing it on anything lol.

Ram calls it "Active Air Dam" (AAD). And I agree with your opinion of it. :waytogo:

On my pw I took it off just more junk to rip off on the trail and no difference to the truck. But my truck is a pw so I don’t think it matters. I think it’s hilarious to see 4x4s with ground effects air damming. Do you have a formula 1 4x4 Like I said just more junk to rip off when you are wheeling. If you want your truck to be stock and look like it I get it. But for me it’s one of the first things I got rid of. I’m not sure how fast you have to go for it to be a advantage.

Just leveling a 1500 will drop the gas milage 3 to 5 mpg due to the extra air going under it. Same effect if you put enough weight to sink the rear a bit. Everyone blames the weight but it is more the aerodynamics. The air dam definitely affects the amount of air going under the vehicle.

That said, I took mine off my 2500 to mount the winch and give me better clearance. If I only used it on pavement, I would not remove the aur dam.

A 1500 sport something like that I could see it but for me not needed. I found mine in the garage it’s just missing the plastic anchors

Neva even considered removing it. That about a 2" lift you have there? Truck looks real smart.
(I do have the Warranty extension for the Air Dam listed on Mopar site for my vehicle, and covered repair per RAM if needed).
I just do not drive much or pay a lot of attention to it. I just hate how the truck runs ref cooling when hot, there are times I throw on MAX AC when it gets to like 110F here. Good thing ride is a Driveway Princess, lol.

ADDED: My Falkens (shoes) be 7 years old soon, so starting to move in the direction of replacing.

Naw, no lift. That's the air suspension in Off Road 2 setting.
