Here's my question, are the 2500 front coil spring the same diameter as the 1500? If they are these might make for a good spring to cut for a totally custom height. The aftermarket drop springs are a higher rate then the OEM spring and as the travel decreases higher rates work better than the softer stock springs. Using higher rated springs also might help shocks live a little longer.

I talked to a fellow SEM member about using the 2500 springs in my 1500 2nd gen to level it out, NAPA sells the 2500 springs for $99 a pair brand new, for the 2nd gens.

For the 2003 2500's the spring specs according to NAPA are:
# Coil Spring Coils : 10.8
Coil Spring Free Height : 16.94"
Coil Spring I.D. : 4"
Coil Spring Load Height : 13"
Coil Spring Type : Two Pigtail Ends
Design Load : 1442
Spring Rate : 366
Wire Diameter : .72"

Coil Spring Free Height : 15.68" Driver Side/15.37" Pass. Side
Coil Spring I.D. : 4.03" Driver Side/4.03" Pass. Side
Coil Spring Load Height : 12" Driver Side/12" Pass. Side
Coil Spring Type : Two Tangential Ends
Design Load : 2548 Driver Side/2329 Pass. Side
Spring Rate : 692 Driver Side/692 Pass. Side
Wire Diameter : .81" Driver Side/.81" Pass. Side

Wierd thing is on the 2003's the 2500 springs are only $109 a set and the 1500 springs are $192 a set...
and then for the 1500

Adam, looking at those spec's doesn't look like the 2500 coil would work on a 1500 although the coil diameters are very close. Maybe there is a heavy duty 1500 spring available? I'm not using my own laptop so I'm handicapped somewhat with searching.
Thanks,
