Was told this is to flush the fuel system. Never heard of this. Supposed to be done every 30,000 miles according to my service folks. Just had my 55,000 mile service (Oil change). Is this snake oil? Same with the brake flush. Supposed to be every 2 years. News to me. Anyone do these services?

My 2 cents, yes on brake fluid every 20-40k miles. Cleaning fuel system I'd ask about it. but I would think you can clean your own intake super easy and run redline si-1 through fuel system and your done. Brake fluid is also easy dyi just make sure you don't run master cylinder dry, but usually is cheap anyhow like 149-179 bucks? I wonder if they have a process to get any water out of your tank, with ethanol we worry about phase separation, but it is rare. Ask what is in their service, but brake fluid yes.

Sometimes and Yes. I do both but generally don't mess with the fuel system at the dealer. I use a Top Tier fuel and add a fuel system cleaner about every 5K miles.

Every two years I have a brake system inspection and system flush. I don't use the dealer for this either as I have a great brake shop just down the road.

I do keep my receipts just in case I need some warranty work done.

IMHO its cheaper to use a few bottles of redline or Amsoil fuel system cleaner then paying the dealer for a over prices can of BG 44 and some other stuff they will suck in to the intake.

Check out the official Redline Si-1 thread.
I would read the first few and last few pages.

Thanks for the information. That thread has some good information. I’ll go the additive route. $229 if I let them do it.

I don’t even let them do my cabin or intake filter! Oil only. And that is
1. Warranty
2. Too ****** finicky with this hurricane engine getting level to reset. No dip stick!

They don’t like it, but do as I ask. No tyre rotations either!

I’m CHEAP as f$&k!

Why pay them $229 when you can buy several bottles of quality injection cleaner that you add to your tank and you would still save a boat load of $$$$$

Don’t plan on letting them do it. I have a 50 gallon tank. Just have to decide which one to buy. Need to buy in bulk as it looks like I may need 4 per tank.

It's not really CHEAP if you're smart. Not to nit-pick, but I'm going to anyway.

I used to say we were cheap, said it all the time. Then one day my retirement advisor corrected me and said we weren't "cheap" we were "frugal".

Cheap would probably be refusing to do the service because "it costs money" whereas frugal would be refusing to pay someone else to do something you can do for free, and then doing it.

You don't seem like the cheap type. I dunno, one of those little "ah-ha" moments that stuck with me, so now I use frugal much more often.

Just buy 2 bottles of Archoil 6400G it will treat 50 gallons, if you feel the need for a really deep clean then use the 2 bottles to 25 gallons of gas instead of 50....

Curmudgeon, That’s what I SAY!
I’m not cheap just careful with my money lol. I do NOT want to go from “ retired” to Walmart Greeter. I’m not nice enough to do that. I don’t tolerate idiots! ( I do shop in Walmart by the way!)
