I've got a 2005 Ram with the 4.7. I've got a raw gas smell coming from the area around the drivers side rear door/fuel filler area. Also noticed a drip in that area. Does this sound like a possible leaking fuel pump?

Any known problems in this area?

Thanks, guys

The fuel pump is in the gas tank, the tank would be wet

You should look for loose clamps & cracked hoses near the fuel door

If you don't have a plastic rear wheel liner, it would be easy to remove the drive side rear tire & look all around at the hoses

It is not difficult to remove the wheel well liner, if you do have it

Turned out to be a cracked fuel pump housing. Had it fixed by the dealer. Problem solved and I noticed that the engine catches more easily when I start it, so I'm thinking that the fuel pressure was bleeding down through the crack after shutdown.
