My fuel filling problem is that if I stop when it clicks off, I’m only at 7/8 of a tank. Pulling a trailer, it goes fast so a full tank or extra couple gallons would be nice. Clicking it every 5 seconds to get another gallon in is a pain. Then it finally spills out

I think your full when it shuts off the first time. Topping off the tank till it spills out isnt good. If the gauge isnt reading full then i think thats where your issue is.

You have to be careful with overfilling from what I have heard ! There is a evap canister or something like that , that can get filled up and cause venting issues ! There was a TSB or Recall on some filler necks causing a issue and was replaced by the dealer under warranty ! Not sure if that carries into the 2020 models

Mine starting doing the same thing. It puts in the same gallon amount but gauge is just shy of full. I’ll live with it.

I have the same issue - I won’t make a trip to the dealer for just this as it is just an annoyance.

This is more than an annoyance if you're one of the people who didn't pay enough attention to tank size, and are stuck with a 23 gallon tank LOL. I didn't have this problem with my truck for the first year I owned it. Now I'm seeing it happen more and more often. I finally narrowed it down to specific gas stations that have recently replaced their fuel nozzles. There is one CFN station I can go to that this doesn't happen. They haven't replaced their nozzles for a long time. I know this isn't a gauge issue. When I fill up at that CFN station, my gauge reads full and my DTE reads 340 miles. When I fill up anywhere else I've tried, my gauge reads just under full and my DTE reads 305 miles. I'll probably end up going to my dealer for this, but for now I'm living with it.

I was on a trip pulling a 7000k trailer so all different gas stations. If I’m around home it doesn’t matter not getting full but the extra 1.5 gallons is big at 7mpg

It's only a 10 mile difference. If you are running your truck to tank to almost last drop before filling, I'll guarantee you are going to have much bigger problems in the near future.

Your DTE is based on your average mpg calculated by the computer. It's not going to be exactly the same on every full tank. It will fluctuate on every fill up depending on how hard it easy you are on the throttle before. Mine is rarely ever the same

Did they fix this problem on the 21's? I have never had a problem and have made 2 trips between Dallas and Davenport, IA. No problems at any station. (hope I didn't just jinx myself!)

I definitely didn’t pay attention to the tank size. Now it’s biting me. It was a dealer demo so the deal was there. I had a 2013 before and it was fine but now I bought a bigger trailer and would like to go to the 33 if possible.

Correct. Mine typically reads +/-525 after filling up (33gal tank). Daughter took my truck on a 3k trip to the Carolinas. All interstate driving, 3 adults plus luggage. She filled up just before giving it back to me. It read 633 to empty.

I took delivery 14 months ago, it’s traveled 15k miles through 8 different states. No issues anywhere with fueling. No issues of any kind with any thing

I hear what you're saying, but mine is nearly always the same. I use my truck to commute to work and back home, and rarely ever use it for anything else. Very consistent tank after tank. I have another vehicle I use for any other driving and for trips to the city.

I had the truck looked at today at the dealership and they found no obstructions with the tank but there is a service bulletin on it so they ordered me a new 23 gallon tank. I mentioned wanting to swap for a 33 gallon but they said Chrysler “doesn’t recommend putting in a bigger tank” but didn’t have a reason why.

Do you have a link to the service bulletin? I want to know if my dealer has been lying to me about this ...

I have the same issue, when filling up from a 1/4 or so it will shut off filling always between 3/4 and 7/8th. I have to have it topped to get to the full line, No, it doesn't spill out either. Misaligned or what?? Been that way from day one. New '21 Big horn 1500.
