Fuelly tank gas mileage vs trip mileage

I'm a bit stumped on this one. My tank avg was usually 13.x, but calculating the overall trip mpg I was 16.7. What am I missing? how can I avg 13.x on each tank yet get over 16 trip avg? I logged EVERY gas stop accurately- all my volumes and cost matched up with the receipts

I should have made it clear all my calculations are from Fuelly app, not off the evic

It's called fca mileage versus real mileage, go off the tank only way to get it done.

My computer average is always 2 1/2 mpg higher then reality (hand calculated). That's why they call it the Lie-O-meter.

I did not use the truck's mpg indicator, all this was done on Fuelly.

the 3 anomalies are a partial tank when they wanted 50cents a gallon more in Yellowstone than outside the park. I marked that purchase a partial fill and of course if gives a screwed up MPG because of it.

When you go to statistics on the home page, what does it show for Avg MPG? Did you do any calculations by hand?
