Looking to do a full exhaust on my 2013 ram HEMI. I'm putting an intake and TB on it. and I'm looking into a Borla system for exhaust. Knowing that, I want to put headers on it as well..... My question is what parts will I need to install a FULL exhaust from the headers back. Should I just get Borla Mufflers, the headers and let a shop custom install the rest? What headers are good headers? How do I keep the O2 sensors so that I dont throw codes? This is just the start of my build. I'm not looking to race or do any off roading just something to tinker on and have a little fun with and increase the performance and unlock some of that real Hemi power. No need to tear into the engine just wanting some bolt ons nothing crazy.
Thanks in advance

Top right hand corner is the search icon, everything has been covered.

In short, go long tubes. Based on user reviews stainless works or arh are the best. Check out moes performance for pricing. Pair it with a diablo tuner. Catback or muffler is your choice depending on how loud you want it.

ARH Longtubes with cats...then add any muffler or catback of your choice from there. The headers are going to give you the power and the catback/muffler will give you sound. I would recommend 1 of the Mufflex muffler kits so that you can keep the full system bolt on without having to spend $1000 on a complete catback.

Matt, out of curiosity why do you suggest to go with cats? Sound?

I wouldn't run without cats unless you have no family and race all the time. Running without cats is not only illegal, but it will trigger codes without tuning, and you smell fuel all the time. I don't like to drive my truck with the baby because of the gas fumes in the cab.

Now that I have the blue truck to play with, I will be putting cats back onto my daily driver.

Removing cats is only good for about 8hp, so unless you are truly chasing down every last hp for a track time, I think the cons outweigh the pros to running without them.

What cats should I go with. So basically, in short, long tube American racing headers, cat converters (hi-flow?) and a cat back exhaust such as the borla that I want (love the sound). Also, what size inlets and outlets for the cats? and what size pipes for the borla system. Im thinking that borla mufflers and having a shop throw the pipes on will be the cheapest route while getting the right size pipes while keeping the sound I want. also as far as air intake, which one is recommended, too many choices. Again not looking to race just looking for a little more and have the truck sound like a truck

Ive got the ARH (1.75") with cats and 14" Mufflex kit.

If you wanna hear it. Quiet when cruising, and apparently pretty barky loud when romped :) Or so Ive been told, then followed, then spoken to when I stop....

By old guys wanting my same setup!! haha, I figured theyd all be ******** at me!

Going from stock cats to high flow is about 5hp, and from stock cats to no cats is about 10hp.

About 4 hours in the driveway. Longtubes are actually easier to install than shorties on these trucks.

Id personally plan on 5-6 hours for first install with slight issues. Just my opinion on it. I know without a doubt no air tools I could do it in under 4 after having done it the first time.

The oil dipstick tube is a *****. Also, be sure to get some PB blaster and soak bolts prior to starting any work on the truck. Just jump under the truck and spray all the bolts on the exhaust prior to removing the wheels and get them soaking. It helps even if your truck is new.

Where did you get hung up on the dipstick tube? Both of mine came out very easy. There are only 2 bolts holding it on, and then simply pull the tube up and out.

I had one hell of a time accessing the bolt on the block. Not sure why. Ive heard other people have had issues too. I finally just cut the bracket off and said **** it just as others have done. Maybe it changed bolt location later years? I never installed headers on my '10.

JK, when you're done, I'd like to know:

How much was the grand total cost.

How do you like the sound.

Value, cost vs outcome.
