I've been running Gamber Johnson consoles in my trucks for years due to additional radio installs. For those unaware, these are steel consoles specifically designed for mounting 2 way radios, computers, etc in commercial vehicles. Somewhat similar to a Tuffy console, but more specialized for equipment mounting. If you've ever seen the front inside of a police cruiser, you've likely seen either a Gamber Johnson console, or something similar made by several other companies.

I typically have two ham radios in my truck, Motorola APX-6500 for work, a communications receiver, a laptop and a couple cell phones mounted up (work and personal) and a switch panel for aux gear. These consoles make it much easier rather than trying to screw multiple mounts on top/under the dash, to the floor, etc...
I used to install these things professionally for some years, but have been out of that field for quite some time now. Gamber used to make faceplates to easily mount ham radios to their consoles, but seem to have discontinued them. I also have room to run a wider console in this Ram compared to what I had in my prior Chevy. So now I'm curious if others here are more familiar with current offerings, and wondering if there's something better out there for those of us that aren't just limited to work related stuff.
