Buddy of mine has a 2006 procharged Hemi. Currently, he is running 3.92s in the rear but has 26" rims. I suggested to him to get a different gear (4.10s or 4.56s) Am I correct? What would you all suggest?

He wants to improve his 1/4 mile time as it is the same as the truck without the supercharger and 20s...

His problem is the bigger wheels. Those 26" are heavy.

On my vette I run 15's. I had 20's but it did show a slight slower tine .

My 2008 ram QC hemi I have the 20's it is slight slower start then my 2007 SC 3.6 with 17'

The 26" wheels do make a difference but I would of though the blower would of made enough power still to overcome that... Is the rest of the truck stock?

Yes...He said he is running 6 lbs of boost on the procharger. Current rear end is 3.92s.

Something sounds off in his tune to be blown at 6lbs and not be any quicker then a stock truck on 20's, thats just MHO. Get some times from him or his whole setup, could be starving for fuel if the injectors were not changed. Something just seems really off.

Im figuring an extra 150 lbs total for all 4 but could be wrong, normal rule of thumb is each extra 100lbs is a .10 in the 1/4. Does he have the weight of his wheel/tire combo? When I weighed my OEM 20" 04 rim with a 33" Nito Terra Grappler at 50% tread weighed in at 85 LBS.

yep then take in rotating mass vs static mass, those Amish wagon rims are not helping on a already hefty barge. I would think though that changing to 4.10's or 4.56's will take spin the rpms to fast esp in 1st and 2nd.

IMO, the tires are the main problem. They are probably something like 36" tall, thats a big tire to get rolling.

Those are what I assumed he had. Those are cutting his time down l. If he could get ahold a set of the stock 17's with a good tire size, he will see a better time.

I convinced him to go with 4.30s. Just need to get in contact with someone from Moe's about ordering them. Thanks for the help guys!

If he is really worried about times he shouldn't be running 26s at the track. He needs to get a dedicated set of track wheels with some drag radials PLUS some gears. 4.56s and a set of 28" drag radials will do wonders for his truck.

FYI they don't make a 4.30 gear for the 9.25 rear-end.
