Gear swap help!

Hey guys I’m looking to swAp gears from 3.21 to 3.92 in my 4WD 2015 ram 1500 ...... the whole front gears issue is where I’m lost . I’m no gear head and don’t have working knowledge of them. But a little reading on here tells me I can’t just swap gears from my front diff I have to replace it. My question is .... will the front diff assembly with the 3.92 gears be able to be swapped? Or do I need a whole front axel ? I have this ordered thinking it will work....

Doing the work yourself obviously?

Hate to preach but have you done gears before?

Anyway. Im not that familiar with the 1500 but a gear swap shop told me the ring is welded to the carrier but a good shop can do a swap in you axle setup no problem. Id seek advice from a local shop that is familiar with it. Or even get some info from the dealer.

Negative ghost rider!!! I’m having it done.... paying for it I’m sure but my question is... will that front diff I posted be able to be swapped directly into my front axel or do I need an entire axel and diff assemble together. ???

I would never try to do gears myself lol my skills are extremely limited lol I just work more overtime to compensate. Lol I’m located in NY but know the 2015 and up have an issue with easily changing gears in front end ... just looking for someone to simplify it for me. But if I have to pay for a front diff AND a new axel I may be deterred a bit

Im sorry i am no more help to you. I cant answer your question. But can i ask a question? Have you contacted the installer you want to use yet?

IMO if they want your money they should either know this already of figure it out for you.

Yes. I was waiting fo call back and they said the front diff I posted witll b able to be bolted right in . I don’t need to swap axels. Just was posting on here to see if anyone knew before I heard back.
