Pretty much the same here. In stock configuration, my power wagon at normal cruising speed (60+-), 6th gear is almost a joke. If its not flat ground or slight downhill, might as well stick it in 5th.

These gas trucks with this trans should have 4.56 gears minimum.

Our 66RFE’s have the same exact gear set as the 68 that is in the cummins equipped trucks.

The gear ratios are not right in any way.

The truck relies on “kick down” way to much

I run 35’s with 4.88 gears and it is much better. But in the end this truck still has the wrong trans.

    FCA fucked up big time.

Take this for what it's worth and it's worth all you payed for it. There are many people saying go 488. Most of them seem to have 6.4ls (as do I). Your profile says 6.7l diesel. IMO, with your tires plus diesel, 456 is more than enough. 4.10 is probable better, but it (again IMO) it is not worth paying the frog skins for a 3.73 to 4.10 chance.

So in short, keep the 3.73 or 4.56 max. If it were me, I'd prob keep the 3.73 and get a tuner

It's a huge difference. It runs great on the highway approx 2200 RPMS at about 80 MPH. I think I would have loved the 4.88's too. Just depends on what you are looking for. The truck is also tuned 93 oct HEMIFEVER,Moes 87 mm TB,cold air intake, and pedal commander.

I just used the chart to see what RPMS I wanted to be at with my tire size and made my decision.

It's a family owned place. I would say just about an hour and half from you. Very knowledgeable. Screenshot_20190223-082158_Chrome.jpg
