Yeah I’m at about 25 highway with it set on cruise control. Just depends on the hills.

That's pretty good with our brick aero. The 5th Gen Ram is supposed to be much more slippery through the air but I'm not trading mine in. Will be paid off this time next year and barely have 40k miles.

I'm sure it does, but I'm thinking V6 non rebel, VS V6 rebel. Not a whole lot of difference there considering the 3.92 gearing.
My 3.6 has 3.55s and it has to be above 65mph to go into 8th with the rpms around 1700 and I would be ok with 3.92s as 65mis about as fast as I drive. I would have more power and probably the same mpg with the 3.92s and FCA should offer it as an option on all models and my guess is the CAFE standards are why it isn't. Time for the government to stop trying to create reality.

So, are you pretty happy with how the V6 performs with your 3.55's? And how much difference do you think you'd have, if you had the 3.21 rear end?

yeah.. The PentaStar weighs a few hundred pounds less, I guess that contributes. The other thing is that with the 3.92, at 70-ish mph in 7th or 8th gear you're around 2100 RPM, which is where I'm seeing the best overall mpg.

Gonna test where my RPM is at 70 with the 3.21s.

I too have the 3.6 with the 3.55 gearing and I am very pleased with its performance. I have towed with it and it performed admirably. I personally am glad I went with the 3.55 and I can only imagine the 3.92 would do even better. I have not had any experience with the 3.21 and the 3.6.

I love this truck for its power and a lot of other reasons and the big difference between 3.21 and 3.55 is the tow capacity that is increased about 3000#. I drove a 3.21 3.6 at the dealer and really could not tell the difference with the 3.55 truck so if you don.t need the higher tow either one is good.

That's excellent. That tells me a lot if you noticed very little diff. between those two gear ratios. Although, I would think there'd be some acceleration differences, if the towing capacity is increased by 3000lbs.
Looks like I'm just going to have to drive them to see for myself.

On flat roads was sitting at about 1500ish RPM while doing 70 in 8th gear.

Many times I'll hold in 7th gear to keep the rpm's around 2k. I've found that to allow better mpg.

I don't know why it would have been limited to the Rebel, same motor and tranny... MPG around town is between 15-17 (lead foot dependent) and highway (on flats) is about 21-23 at 70mph over the course of a road trip.

Well, there are some cool differences between the Rebel and other trims...one of them is the AGS delete (which would, of course, hurt gas mileage on the freeway), among others.

What size tank do you have? The smallest available I thought was 23 gallons which if you’re averaging 350 would be 15mpg combined.

Look at Fuelly. People with the 6 report about 30% on average better mpg. I regularly get 550 to a tank driving like a lunatic.

26 gallon. 90% of my driving is city to work which is only 3 miles so the engine is cold the whole way. So I wouldn't get great mpg doing that regardless of engine
