Hello everyone,

I drive an 01 Ram with 90k miles, 3.21 gears (ugh I know), and the 3.9 V6. This truck is not pretty by any means but it does not leak or burn a single drop of any fluid and it runs damn near perfectly. I have been curious about the short throw/core shifters available for the truck and wanted to know if anyone on here had one, and what their thoughts were regarding them? I am looking to make the truck a little more fun and personalized, and not interested in any performance enhancements etc...after all, it is just a V6.

tldr; pros and cons of the short throw shifter?

The con of a short throw shifter is it becomes very easy to powershift and your clutch is going to suffer. Or you’ve completed your shift and now you’re waiting for the engine to drop its revs.

Young, money spending fun me is saying lighter fly wheel, new clutch, short throw, and 4.10s in the rear!
