I always thought that gears made you burn more gas.

So in town, it can possibly increase the mpgs. Because it burns less fuel to reach cruising speed.

BUT

On the highway, your mpgs go down?

Nope on highway they will either stay the same or go up. Highway cruising with the OD gears in the trans puts it at a relatively respectable highway gear. Mine gained mpg's on the highway up to 70-75mph, above that it starts to drop.

So figure Im running oem 3:55's now. I throw in some 4:10's, and I launch faster AND I gain a LIL mpgs!?!

Im sold!
