I have a two inch gouge on the passenger side front roof pillar, a thumb size dent on the passenger side lower rocker panel just under the door. AND, there are two other spots on that side that are scratched enough to break through to the metal.

I clear coated the spots to prevent rust for now. The roof pillar has white touch up but looks like ****.

Is MAACO viable option for minor body repairs like this? Anyone with a very rough idea of how much a regular shop might charge? The dent would need to be filled, the rest is all paint work. Beyond my scope if I want it to last / look good.

Thanks in advance for any help / ideas.

The dent should be able to be paintlessndent repair. I had one one my hood and tailgate about the size of my thumb and he was able to get them flush again. Look for a pdr shop. As for the minor paint blemishes I have something similar behind the cab on the passenger side. Find a detailer who can wet sand it and polish it.

Stay far away from macco or any other cheap body/paint place unless you dont care or plan on keeping it. If you do, pay the bucks to a reputable shop, search Google reviews for auto body shops in your area, then get quotes from the high rated ones. Then ask each place about there warranties, most shops that are very good have great warranties. Heck my brothers shop has a lifetime warranty on all there work!!

Yelp is your best friend. Stay away from Maaco although some of them seem to do decent work it seems to be a hit or miss, I did have a friend recently have a full respray done by local Maaco looks good enough for what car it is older Is300 but I wouldn’t have them pint any of my rides lmao but both are worth more and better condition then his DD.

Good info...thanks for all the replies. Had no idea MAACO was that bad / hit or miss.
There is a reason they offer a 1000 paint job for an entire car

Check around with your friends, sometimes painters/body shop guys do little side jobs for a lot less than going through a shop. Just make sure they know what the hell they are doing. The price of materials has been going up a lot so don't be surprised at the cost. My painter won't even get out of his recliner for less than $100.

That's a good idea. We have a guy at work that works at a shop on the side, he just might know a guy that knows a guy....
I'm expecting it to hurt a little bit money wise, and I usually don't care about the looks, but I just bought the thing in April and it's my first truck and I want it to look at least ok for awhile.
