So, I’ve been in a 2018 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi and sadly realize that I simply don’t have enough truck. I pull trailers for rest and relaxation, and without knowing enough I trusted the RV dealership. Yeah, throw mud in my face now… I’ll wait.

Just placed an order for a new 3500 crew cab with 8’ bed and some fun things such as the air ride and the 50 gal fuel tank. Going to be really nice not having to stop midway on my RV trips for fuel. Sure I do stop for food and restroom breaks, but the fueling up, just becomes a pain in the ass when pulling a trailer. Now with the diesel, I should be able to hit truck stops which obviously can better handle trailers.

the part that drives me nuts is ordering it and not having a clue what to now expect. Salesman told me 6-10 weeks, I see online 22-26 weeks, and the new truck manager said probably February. Going to read some posts, see what I learn and enjoy reading some RAM stories.

still remember getting my 2018, my father said I didn’t need a Hemi. Wait until I pick him up in the new beast.

The fuel pumps at many Big Rig truck stops don't accept consumer credit cards. If you have cash you can go inside to prepay or use your card inside to prepay. I have had some dirty looks from the cashier when using a consumer credit card to prepay at the Big Rig pumps. Once I was flat told they don't accept consumer credit cards at the Big Rig pumps for a reason and the cashier wouldn't make the sale.

You can sign up for this program to get a card to use the commercial (Big Rig) lanes with a discounted fuel price at many locations. You will need to comfortable giving the company access to your bank account as that is the only means they accept to pay for purchases made with the card. https://www.tsdlogistics.com/services/fuel-program/

Easy enough to set up a separate account just for fuel.

Congrats! I think that you made the right choice and you didn't even go for the 2500 you skip that and went right with the 3500 good choice. Keep us posted I know that you will wonder why you didn't do that before.
