Got me the sport hood! Remove tailgate badge

months chasing a sport hood, I found one ! It was a 2.5 hour drive, but worth it I think. $225 for it , with the slight front dent, my buddy fixed for $225,including the gas money, I have $500 ******* on it. Then I figured to take the tailgate off, and have him also remove the ram head, and repaint it. Going with the black RAM letters, I’m also getting the black rebel hood decal. $200 to do the tailgate

Looks like ur buddy did a great job repairing the hood. Ive been keeping an eye out for a granite crystal sport hood. Dont the RAM letters on tailgate require drilling holes in it? I was considering taking mine off but read there would be holes to fill in and paint work?

Yes the letter comes with little push in tabs and obviously the sticky tape in the back, we are snipping those tabs off, and simply stick them on. Under the ram logo there were two small holes that were covered up with body filler and repainted the tailgate.

Will the ram letters fit on a non-ram lettered tailgate? The body lines are different to accommodate them. I haven’t seen that attempted before.

Yes they will. The letter are about 5 inches tall, the ram logo must be removed, plenty of room to make them fit nicely

I was on the fence when they first changed to it, now I would rather have it than my RAM's head.

Am I right in thinking the indentation where the Ram head logo is needs to be filled in before adding the RAM tailgate letters? I want to do the same thing, but not sure I want to start filling and spraying the tailgate.
