Gotta start by saying gawd damnit. So Friday I got pulled over for no mud flaps and tinted tail lights. No ticket just said to fix it. Just got pulled over again for mud flaps, tinted tail lights added lisence plate cover and no front plate. This time he asked where and how much I got my light bars for again no ticket. I seriously think I'm only getting stopped so they can check out my ride . Angry lol

I love this place

Any recommendations for mud flaps that'll work with after market bolt on flares? And for the tail lights to lighten the tint would 2000 grit wet sand work?

I live my Mopar Heavy Duty Rubber mud flaps! They look great and work with the factory flares! They also help keep the mud down..a bit lol. The wide tires kill me there :) I'll try and find a picture of them to post up.

Laws are different up here. Just curious.
But is it against the law to run with no mud flaps? If so, how are the dealers letting a vehicles go on the road. Without meeting DOT standards. Thats like shipping a truck out without headlights.
I guess it's different up here to the north, but i've never seen/heard of someone getting a ticket for no flaps.

I think it's for oversized tires, if they stick out too far past the fender there has to be fender flares and/or mudflaps. Prevent the possibility of throwing rocks at the vehicle behind you. Not sure on the exact laws...

As far as mud flaps go, at least half the tire needs to be covered by either the rear bumper or mud flaps. By covered I mean looking at the back of the truck you shouldn't be able to see more than half the tire. On a side note he did give me an atta boy for running flares.

I've said this before, law or not, enforced or not, mud flaps are just common courtesy.

If flaps worked I'd be cool with them but they don't IMO. I've had numerous rocks flung at my windshield by trucks who were running them and by cars who don't have them. The only true way to prevent rocks being thrown is using rigid flaps that extend all the way to the ground again IMO. Now I will put flaps on, mainly because it'll help keep my rear quarters a little cleaner and because getting pulled over every other day sucks.

The U.S is very different, even state to state. We do not require mudflaps, atleast in Ontario.

Just like our tint laws. The tint shouldn't be so dark where the driver is not visible whatsoever :word:

"Every motor vehicle and every trailer shall be equipped with mudguards or
fenders or other device adequate to reduce effectively the wheel spray or splash
of water from the roadway to the rear thereof, unless adequate protection is
afforded by the body of the motor vehicle or trailer or by a trailer drawn by the
motor vehicle."

like so many of our laws it's up the the officer to decide what's adequate. i also learned the other day that any truck over 4500kg including trailer weight(loaded or unloaded) must have an annual safety inspection and sticker meaning the second you hook up to a decent sized trailer you're breaking the law or if you have a 3/4 or 1 ton truck basically any trailer will put you over the limit. yet travel trailers are fully exempt no matter the size which makes absolutely no sense
