Got the wrong U joint - Ideas on what happened?

Hey all, so i had just finished beating the old joint out of my axle shaft, i go to place the new one in...and it falls through. Its way too small! I grab the other one and it also doesnt fit. The caps are way too small.

Its a 1997 Ram 2500 with the Dana 60 up front. I looked up the part # with my truck and it says its an exact fit still, the one that was too small. Is it possible that I was given joints for a Dana 44? Did 2500s come with a Dana 44?

Either way, ill be off to the store tomorrow and finding the new ones. I'd just like to find out what happened.

You wouldn't happen to have the moog part #, would you? MOOG 371 was the incorrect part.

Nevermind, ill just get the Spicer one and be done with it. Its got great reviews on Amazon in terms of heavy duty durability.
